The overall board presenting the complete brand identity created for the Farnulla Wines label. A new winery situated at the foot of Magliano in Tuscany.
The name of this new company—at first glance ironic and provocative—actually conveys a serious purpose: “doing nothing” in the sense of “zero impact.” A balanced approach to the use of natural resources, with meticulous attention to every stage of production. Farnulla Wines aims to get as close as possible to a zero footprint by employing the most advanced technologies throughout all production phases. It is committed to pursuing perfection while respecting nature and the traditional processes of winemaking.
Pragmatism, intelligence, optimization, and ethical use of environmental and energy resources, all with the goal of zero impact in consumption and emissions.
This board brings together the best of the creative journey we followed in developing the full coordinated image for the Farnulla Wines brand. From the creation of the logo and payoff, to the color and format variations, the packaging, the label for the first wine, and the application of the brand identity on the architectural elements of the new winery.
The pictogram in the Farnulla Wines logo, which resembles a ray or a small star, was meant to represent the goal of “zero impact.” We achieved this by choosing the smallest, lightest footprint we could find in nature: that of the Kentish plover (Charadrius alexandrinus), a small migratory bird that nests along the Italian coasts, including the Tuscan Maremma. Though its tracks on the ground are almost invisible and its environmental presence is extremely delicate and minimal, the Kentish plover devotes a rare level of care to its nesting—an uncommon trait among other species. The symbol is therefore perfect for embodying minimal ecosystem impact, respect for nature, attention to detail, and a minimalist, sustainable approach to wine production.
The strokes of the footprint also form a kind of crown, with rays converging on the brand’s lettering. These rays symbolize the spark of an idea, the light of science, and the star of a technological ambition aimed toward a sustainable future. The symbol also evokes an arrow pointing toward the earth, underscoring the importance of soil, terroir, and our planet—beginning with the hills of Magliano in Tuscany, where Farnulla Wines are born.
